Description

Baltimore & Ohio #3684

EMD
GP-40

History

This locomotive was purchased with 379 other GP-40 locomotives by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad between 1966 and 1981. They would replace the SW-900 locomotives that would switch railcars in yards or serve on branch line routes. #3684 would primarily pull freight trains between Maryland and Delaware. It was retired in 1993 and is now on display in the parking lot at the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum.
