History

Road switchers were used primarily for deliveries or pickups for customers outside of the rail yard. Their tracks could be along main or branch lines. This road switcher locomotive was built in 1944 by Baldwin Locomotive Works in Pennsylvania for the Canton Railroad. In 1953, this locomotive was sold to the Patapsco & Black Rivers Railroad and was renumbered to 331 for two years. It went back to the Canton Railroad and was once again renumbered to 32. It was sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum and is on display in the parking lot today.
