History

Built in 1856 by Mason Machine Works in Massachusetts for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. This locomotive was named after the founder of Mason Machine Works. When the Civil War arose, it was the first to use railroads. #25 was used for transporting the Union Troops and their supplies. This locomotive was also used for the following motion pictures: “The Great Locomotive Chase” in 1956, “Raintree County” in 1998, “Tuck Everlasting” in 2002, and “Gods and Generals” in 2003. This locomotive is on static display in the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum in the roundhouse.
