Largest locomotive in the world
Not only was this Big Boy the only locomotive in the fleet to burn oil, but it was also the only one to get into a fatal train wreck. It ran a switch going 50mph causing a derailment killing the engine crew along with the livestock. Serious injuries occurred to the brakeman in 1953. This locomotive remained in service for the Union Pacific. In 1970, it went to its current location at the Forney Museum of Transportation.
