First served on the Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad until 1917 when the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad purchased this locomotive for two thousand dollars. Originally it was numbered as #428, then changed to #318. It transported both passengers and freight throughout Southwest Colorado. In 1954, a narrow-gauge railroad museum in Alamosa, CO displayed the locomotive until moving to the current location, which is known today as the Colorado Railroad Museum. It operated around the property from 1978-1982. Currently, it is a static display.
