Lyon Lumber Company built the Lyon Pine Mill in Odessa in 1909, but was headquartered in Alabama. They bought two Baldwin 2-6-2 Prairie-type locomotives in 1916. This locomotive was numbered 2 at the time. A fire occurred in 1925, so the operations shut down in Odessa, and the locomotives were sold to the Georgia Car & Locomotive and then onto T.T. Scott in Kenansville in 1928. The Henderson-Waits Lumber Company in Georgia bought the locomotives from Scott and renumbered this locomotive to 11. Then, both this locomotive and #1, which was also renumbered to 7 were sold to the Saint Joe Lumber & Export. Saint Joe & Export #11 was retired in 1955 and was donated to the City of Port Saint Joe and is now on display in front of the Centennial Building.
