Built in 1887 by the Hohenzollern Works in Germany and imported to the Kingdom of Hawaii, where it was used to transport supplies for the construction of Waita Reservoir in the 1890s. Paulo was used on the first sugar plantation in Hawaii, the Koloa Sugar Company. This locomotive was named after the owner of Lihue Plantation and officer of Koloa Sugar Company, by the name of Paul Isenberg. As of right now, Paulo along with three other locomotives are sitting in the Puhi Roundhouse awaiting restoration to be able to operate.
