It all Started after WWII when the Alaska Railroad put the sleepers in service between Seward and Fairbanks but in times of war was stationed in Denali National Park. There were shoe lockers to allow porters to come down the hall and polish your shoes. With a dream of Susan Wilson woke up and told her husband about having a train in their backyard in Fairbanks, AK. He laughed at it but not when she told him that a caboose was purchased. She thought it was just a model or a toy for children, but her and Mike got in the truck wondering if this will fit in the truck. As soon as they got to where the caboose was, Mike was shocked. But for his wife, he would do anything if that meant having trucks and cranes get these pieces of rail equipment up to the hillside. Business started in 1993. Unfortunately, in 2021, Michael was becoming ill and incapable of being able to run the bed and breakfast. The children seemed to lose interest in assisting and Susan didn't have the energy to keep the business going so sadly they shut down Aurora Express Bed and Breakfast. The owner of Chena Hot Springs Resort decided to purchase the bed and breakfast and had everything moved just outside the entrance to the resort.
