Built in 1958 by Electro-motive Division for the Great Northern Railway and was used at Klamath Falls and Interbay yard for many years near Seattle. The Great Northern Railway merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1970, which in 1995 merged with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, forming what we know today as the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). This locomotive was retired as Burlington Northern and Santa Fe #1730 and was a gift to the Inland Northwest Rail Museum in 2005. It was brought onto the grounds in 2020, where it awaits restoration.
