Built in 1958 by Electro-motive Division for the Great Northern Railway and mainly for hauling on the Klamath Falls branch. The Great Northern Railway merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1970, which in 1995 merged with the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway, forming what we know today as the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). For a while, this locomotive was used at the Great Northern & Cascade Railway in Skykomish up until 2019, when it was in a state of limbo. There was a concern that this locomotive was going to have to be scrapped. In 2022, members of the Inland Northwest Rail Museum acquired this locomotive and got it back to being able to operate as of today.
